The Grand Tour

Received from organizer Fogwoman Gray:
The Grand Tour

Seems like there is a lot of negativity out there, and folks are feeling pretty lousy about all that is going on. I got to thinking that a really large community event is in order. Invite all the Realm of the Roses, Allies and Friends to gather, to reinforce that we really ARE a community and that is where our strength lies. Demonstrations are fine, but we need to renew ourselves by coming together and celebrating our communities. Some of those communities may not survive as locations, but the people who make them up may remain. Let us dance and admire what they have done while we can- especially since it looks like avatar and other limits will be instituted soon....

Therefore:
The Grand Tour....A series of Balls in approximately 14 nations over 2 days on Nov. 22nd and 23rd. We are inviting all our friends and neighbors to come celebrate that which makes us a Community. To bring all our nations and groups together to demonstrate why we stay, and what is important. The Grand Tour has been scheduled for Nov 22 and 23 to accommodate the schedules of as many organizers as possible.
I had only found out about this event late.. so I had an opportunity to visit the final ball of Coughton Court, a bittersweet event to be sure. I normally do not socialize much but would be greatly remiss in missing this event. If these walls could talk.. tsk tsk.

Carntaigh will be greatly missed. I did drop in to the Mystery Ball hosted by those most excellent hosts, Breezy Carver and Skusting Dagger, some time later. The ball was quite pleasant (and crowded) until the GeeGee crowd started to dominate the proceedings, at which point I departed, pleading a headache.

The following evening, I did drop in to the airship over Steelhead, but took no pictures.

I would like to thank the Fogwoman for her enthusiastic efforts at organizing this event. I only attended 3 events on the itinerary but I hope the entirety of the event has been captured as testament to the vibrancy of our themed communities in Second Life. That they should be recorded before destroyed by the bad decisions of Linden Labs will soon be of paramount importance.
