Upon arriving, I changed into that old shabby bottle green Rifleman outfit I wore back in my earliest days. It seemed fitting. We've both seen some mileage since. Nothing could convince me to wear the old blonde dustmop, however. :-D

For the first time in Second Life, I think, I discovered a minuet dance animation, and I loved it.. my friends and I cracked jokes about being old fogies reminiscing, which helped dispel the underlying gloom of the affair.

Many toasts and accolades were given to Duchess Bellambi, and she was clearly moved.
The greatest encomium that could be given to Her Grace, in my humble opinion, was the crowd of luminaries that showed up to say farewell as she packs up to go to distant lands.
The sim might have maxed out at sixty or so Avatars, I didn't count. They certainly represented the broad spectrum of Caledon old and new, as you can see (below). A fitting farewell for one of Caledon's most gracious hostesses. Farewell, Your Grace, and Following Seas.

Sigh, another great sim fallen to the rippling effects of the Homestead Act. The impact on our themed communities is obvious. Will the last person to leave Caledon please turn out the lights?

Oh my goodness. I'm so out of the loop! Cairntaigh and Loch Avie are shutting down?! Where is Eva going? Wow, I guess the era of the Openspace "Duchy" is at an end. I really don't see why LL are punishing those who were not abusing the situation. Very sad.
Eva is going to Winterfell, AFAIK. Her new lands will be called "Isle of SKye". Gabi is heading to the same Winterfell sim, again, AFAIK-- I think she may have bought her own sim, too. I believe Carntaigh will be transplanted there, if there is enough room.
The Duchies, acting in the role we once knew them in, are largely a thing of the past. New Openspace sim caps and script restrictions have pretty much doomed that element of Caledonian social life.
I'm sure there are a few people out there that will hold on to the title of Duke or Duchess, to be sure (one or two of them like a drowning man clutching a reed) but the concept is pretty dead-- done in by the Homestead Act.
