A return to IRON MELEE night at Port Merrimac, and the Queen of the West

FWES Queen of the West and SNS TAOS at Port Merrimac

We had a small IRON MELEE NIGHT last night. I was going to run a historical scenario (Rebels versus Union) but we decided to just do a smash 'em up instead.

Seeing the enemy approach-- two rebel ironclads

I had the Queen of the West out for a shakedown run. This is an Ellet Ram ship, designed to be light, fast, and with a terrible ramming power. Pretty fragile though.

Maneuvering for a broadside aspect ram

The QUEEN performed up to specifications in every aspect...

She sank a lot.. no covering ships..

... particularly in the "fragile" department.

That's okay; this is exactly how an Ellett Ram is supposed to be. Suggested deployment is in a team with a stronger (armor cladded) ironclad, to take the punishment, and move to the attack with the other ship blocking fire, then dash out to ram and retreat again.

Pursuing the Rebel Ironclad

Pick up a Queen of the West today! Vendors at Port merrimac and wherever Murakami steamworks ships are sold.
